Community Honors and Affiliations

MISC is an Affiliate of the Catholic Legal Immigration Network (CLINIC) which consists of Lawyers across the United States that assist Immigrants with all immigration needs and lobbying lawmakers for relief on their behalf.  Clinic provides MISC with training and expertise when needed to assist new and established immigrants.  At Clinic Convenings MISC networks with Immigrant Rights Groups from all over the United States and assessments of needs and best practices are related.

 

MISC is a member of the Macomb Chamber of Commerce which serves as a network of businesses throughout the County. Many services that assist our communities are showcased in our meetings.  Media blasts and other methods of advertising are available to members.  Networking with community agencies brings news, benefits and inclusion into our communities countywide.

MISC is a member of the Macomb County Non-profit Roundtable/Advancing Macomb.  This is a network of non-profits that provide a variety of services vital to Macomb County, many at low or no cost.  

MISC is a member of the Michigan Coalition of Immigrant and Refugee Rights.  This is a group of Lawyers and Legal assistants for immigrants and lobby for Immigrant Rights on behalf of our communities.

MISC is a member of the Michigan Non-Profit Association which serves nonprofits by strengthening the collective voice, leadership, and capacity of nonprofits to enrich the lives of all Michiganders.

The work of MISC and its founder, Emily Diaz-Torres, have attracted numerous community awards.
